Boughton Quarry:
1. NCC have recently approved the continuation of extended hours of working from 1st February 2008 to 8th April 2008. Any further continuation will require the quarry to submit a planning application.
2. The application for an In-vessel Composting facility at the Boughton Quarry has not yet been decided upon by NCC.
3. A ‘condition’ imposed by NCC when granting a past application was that the quarry site must be reinstated for agricultural use by 2015. If the IVC application is granted, it is likely that this ‘condition’ will be annulled.
4. Please inform the Parish Clerk if there should be any significant noise disturbance to nearby residents and/or lumps of mud deposited on the Brampton Lane. Such matters will be recorded and reported to NCC un der their monitoring responsibility.
Pitsford Quarry:
1.The final stages of removing various aggregates from the site are in progress prior to the site being reinstated for agricultural use.
West Northants Joint Planning Unit - Core Strategy/Issues & Options

On behalf of the village, Council has submitted a response which particularly includes strong opposition to growth north of Kingsthorpe to preserve tightly confined villages and attractive countryside, strong support for essential growth south of Northampton where road and rail infrastructures are currently in place, a spread of growth developments within tightly confined villages/towns in the area, necessity to improve current services/facilities/road networks, and, taking whatever action may be needed to minimize growth and development in rural locations. Hopefully, preferred options, when issued, will reflect evidence of our voice being heard.
Improving Village Neighbourhoods Scheme

Council receives a number of requests for various improvement actions to be taken in and around the village. Some can be satisfied but, in many cases, it does not have a ‘power’ to act with authority; particularly over private matters. However, in some cases, it is obvious that some improvement is needed so Councillors may seek to address a matter on an informal/verbal basis. Should this not work, Council may then consider sending a confidential letter to a resident suggesting that some action be taken. This will only be done under a Council resolution and only under extreme situations. Some examples are: overgrowing of public footpaths, inconsiderate parking, unmaintained land adjacent to public areas and public disturbances.
